The discussion about big tires:
We have seen this also during some roadbooks we have done that niva's with original tire size keep up very well in mud.
Our favorite tire was a Firestone SAT 6.00x16 or 6.50x16 depending if the Niva was equipped with some suspension lifting blocks.
Large in diameter but small in width with a nasty profile on it!
Did you create some special upgrades on your Niva to perform this trip?
With rear bloking was blak and dark green nivas They have 100% rear bloking. Plus dark green niva have low kit in t-case. Suzuki have low kit, front and rear 100% blokings.
The old green niva, is buyed some mounts before toure. They from 1988 year. All original. And they was the best in roky steep up hill. Blue kolour niva t was good in mud. The original tyres realy have wery good parameters for off-road. But they are not inaf high. After thieas trip, i realy start think about other tyres. Goodrich KM 2 is not perfect... And in future, i think will be return to the original niva tyres. And if return, i can wery easy install front and reare blokings.
And can buy thies tyres in new condition? How much they cost? I wery want Dunlop T29A...
I after ewry toor check my niva. If find some parts, which dont like, i change they. Better doit thies at home in garaje. Not in the forest in deep mud
